As one of Australia’s leading wedding photographer teams, Linda Pasfield and her partner Anthony Pforr have landed, for the third time in a row, the yearly #1 Brides Choice Award.

This Award recognises excellence in wedding businesses operating across Australia’s regional areas, whether they be small ‘business power couples’ or large-scale corporations.

Every year, the state’s finest wedding professionals compete for this top industry accolade – and it’s no certainly no easy feat landing one.

The Awards scrutinise everybody involved this buzzing industry of love. They recognise everyone from day spas and makeup artists to caterers, celebrants and florists.

But for Linda and Anthony, it isn’t simply about taking some amazing snaps on a wedding day – and it isn’t really even about capturing the magic (although, that’s obviously a given).

It’s about making your clients feel so comfortable around you, that they’ve reached the stage where posing in front of you becomes second nature.

The COVID challenge

The pandemic was unlike anything Linda and Anthony could have ever expected.

With weddings postponed, cancellations through the roof and scores of distraught couples across Tasmania, it was difficult to push through.

“Sometimes I wanted to cry and, at times, hide away when our heartbroken couples would call, with having to cancel or postpone their wedding because of COVID restrictions,” Linda said.

But the challenge could not be met by shutting down.

All she could do was power through and do the best she could.

“I kept thinking about how they felt, took my own concerns away and made it about them.

“This has taught us that its human nature to say it’s not about what you know, it’s about how you care.”

Couples remember

When restrictions eased, and weddings started coming back to life across Tasmania, Linda and Anthony were not forgotten by the clients that had originally booked them in.

The connection they forged with couples during one the most difficult times of their lives was something that couldn’t simply be forgotten.

“A lot of our couples came back with new dates, and some eloped, because they remembered we listened”, Linda says.

They’re just getting started
